Thanks to optional engine preheating, the buses are always ready for use so that timetables can be adhered to even in difficult climatic conditions. In electrically powered vehicles, our powerful, compact high-voltage heaters provide the heat.
Heating solutions for fuel-powered buses
Webasto water heaters preheat the coolant circuit of the vehicle engine even before the journey begins, to ensure that the engine can be started at any time and even at temperatures well below zero degrees. This protects the engine and also reduces emissions and fuel consumption. The air in the front area is also heated by the vehicle fan. The Webasto water heaters recommended for buses are available with heating outputs between 9 and 35 kW. For quick, long-lasting warmth, our air heaters from the Air-Top range heat the interior efficiently and with the highest quality. Their heat output can be selected between 2 and 5.5 kW per device. Several devices distributed in the vehicle can be combined.
For both the air and water heaters, Webasto offers a wide range of applications and accessories for individual original equipment and retrofit solutions. Additional hoses, distributors and air outlets ensure optimum heat distribution. The heaters can be integrated into 12 and 24 V environments and also heat with alternative fuels such as HVO and GtL. Depending on the choice of devices, various control elements are available, such as the smart ThermoConnect app. In addition to the air and water heaters, Webasto offers integrated heat exchangers for using residual engine heat to heat the vehicle interior. Various models offer heating outputs from 3.3 to 13 kW.

Heating solutions for electrically powered buses
Our extremely efficient high-voltage heaters (HVH) with heating outputs between 5 and 12 kW ensure pleasant temperatures in electric buses. The space-saving devices convert electrical direct current into heat with virtually no losses (more than 95 percent). All models are ISO 21434-compliant, but differ in terms of voltage and communication interfaces. Electric high-voltage heaters from Webasto not only heat the front and passenger compartments, but can also provide optimum temperature control for traction batteries. This has a positive effect on their range and service life.
