High-performance battery technology

Mercedes-AMG

Maximum power, fast charging and powerful cooling: With the battery system for the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé, Webasto is industrializing an advanced battery concept. Module and pack assembly located in Schierling, Bavaria, strengthen the site as a battery technology and competence center. Highly automated production lines integrate state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, including advanced immersion cooling for maximum battery performance.

Hyundai-Kia Motors

We are where our customers are: At the Webasto Dangjin plant in Korea, the company’s first fully owned passenger car battery is produced since 2022 in partnership with Hyundai Motor Group. The highly automated facility enables flexible multi-product manufacturing, supporting Hyundai’s growing EV portfolio while reinforcing Webasto’s position as a trusted development and series production partner in the Asia-Pacific region.

High-performance battery production - Schierling

Battery production in Germany

At our Schierling Battery Competence Center in Bavaria, we combine advanced battery manufacturing with flexibility, innovation, and sustainability. Our highly automated 45,000 m² facility has a production capacity of up to 100,000 units per year. With expertise in premium battery systems and next-generation technologies such as immersion cooling, we deliver solutions for demanding applications. Renewable energy sources help make our manufacturing processes more resource efficient.

High-volume battery production - Dangjin

Battery production in Korea

Since SOP in 2022, Dangjin has become our key battery hub in Asia-Pacific. Highly automated production, a cycle time of just three minutes per battery, and a peak capacity of up to 300,000 battery systems per year enable scalable and flexible manufacturing.

We put it through its paces

At our Hengersberg Testing & Prototyping Center, ideas become reality. We support the entire battery development process, from prototype builds and small-series production to validation and testing. We conduct cell, module, and system testing with capacities of up to 300 kW. Our facilities also include climate chambers and comprehensive durability testing. These capabilities enable short development cycles and ensure reliable battery performance under real-world conditions.
