The Webasto Korea Dangjin Battery Campus was established in 2021, and in May 2022, it completed its first battery plant and began battery system production. In May 2024, the second battery plant was completed, expanding production capacity. The campus plays a crucial role in the Webasto Group’s mass production of passenger vehicle batteries.

Dangjin has fertile land, making it a hub for agricultural production. Additionally, it is known as a center for heavy industry due to the presence of large-scale steel plants such as Hyundai Steel. The city also has a strong manufacturing sector, producing advanced products like automotive parts and electric vehicle battery packs. With a balanced development in agriculture, heavy industry, and manufacturing, Dangjin is a well-rounded industrial city.

Dangjin Battery Campus

The Dangjin Battery Campus covers 67,284.5 m² and includes production plants, office buildings, warehouses, and ample parking space. 
 

Both the first and second battery plants feature state-of-the-art automated production lines using robots, ensuring high productivity and precision in assembly. Additionally, solar panels are installed on the roof of the first battery plant to generate eco-friendly energy.
This energy is fed into the local power grid of Dangjin, contributing to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
