Webasto Korea was established in Ulsan in 1987 and began producing sunroofs. Since then, the Ulsan plant has expanded its production capabilities to include panoramic sunroofs, solar roofs, and flush glass. With research, development, and testing facilities, the plant continues to manufacture safer and higher-quality products.

Ulsan

Ulsan is home to Hyundai Motor’s manufacturing plant, Hyundai Heavy Industries’ shipyard, and SK Energy’s refinery, making it a major industrial hub in South Korea with well-developed infrastructure and technology. Additionally, Ulsan offers various natural attractions such as Taehwagang National Garden, Ulsan Grand Park, and Ulsan Beach, where visitors can enjoy leisure activities.

Ulsan plant and headquarters

The Webasto Ulsan plant is built on a 50,400.5m² site and houses both Webasto Korea’s headquarters and facilities for the research, development, testing, and production of roof systems. Around 900 employees work at this site.

Furthermore, the plant contributes to sustainability by generating eco-friendly energy through solar panels installed on its roof. The energy is transmitted to the local power grid, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the community.
